Haringey’in Çocuk ve Gençlere Yönelik Hizmetler Müdürü açıklandı.
Haringey Belediye Meclis Başkanı Claire Kober, “Peter, belediye içinde korunmaya muhtaç çocukların korunabilmesi için gerekli olan değişiklikleri ve gelişmeleri yerine getirecek güçlü bir liderlik sağlayacaktır. Ocak ayında başlayacak görevinde tüm belediye onun arkasındadır” dedi.
Ailesinin kötü davranışları ve belediyenin ihmali sonucu ölen ‘Bebek P’ olayından sonra, Haringey Belediyesi Çocuk ve Gençlere Yönelik Hizmetler Müdürü görevinden alınmıştı. John Coughlan görevi geçici olarak yürütüyordu. Peter Lewis görevine 1 Ocak 2009 tarihinde başlayacak.

New director of Children and Young People’s Service in Haringey named
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Ed Balls, today appointed Peter Lewis as the new director of Children and Young People’s Service in Haringey.
Commenting on the appointment, the leader of Haringey Council, Cllr Claire Kober, said:
“Peter will provide the strong leadership which will be essential to drive forward the change and improvements needed to protect vulnerable children in the borough.
“He will have the support of the entire council in the important work he will be taking on in January.
“I would also like to thank John Coughlan for the tremendous hard work and commitment he has shown over the last few difficult weeks.”
The appointment takes effect from 1 January 2009.
