28 Kasım Cuma günü 16.30 sularında, kavga ihbarı üzerine olay yerine gelen polis, Christopher Paul Winship’i bıçaklanmış olarak buldu. Royal London Hastanesine kaldırılan genç adam, yaklaşık bir saat sonra öldü.
Christopher Paul Winship’in akrabalarına haber verildiğini açıklayan polis, cinayet soruşturması açtığını açıkladı.
Soruşturmayı yürüten, Cinayet ve Ciddi Suçlar Masası Amiri Simon Moring olayla ilgili henüz kimsenin göz altına alınmadığını belirterek, olayı gören ya da bilgisi olanların polise bilgi vermesini istedi.
Polis, bilgisi olanların 0208 345 4142’yi ya da isim vermeden 0800 555 111’i (Crimestoppers) arayabileceğini açıkladı.

Another fatal stabbing, this time in Islington
Police have launched a murder investigation following a fatal stabbing in Islington.
Police were called at about 1630 on Friday 28/11/08 to Havelock Street, on a report of a fight in progress. On arrival, police found a 30-year-old man whose name Christopher Paul Winship had been stabbed. He was taken by ambulance to the Royal London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1724. Identity of the victim is known by the police and next of kin said to be informed.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Simon Moring from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command is leading the investigating. He said: “No arrest has been made. We are appealing to anyone who was in Havelock Street at about 16.30 on Friday afternoon. Did you witness the stabbing take place? Did you notice anyone acting suspiciously around that time? Do you have any information?”
